Keystone is a business for impact. That means we work with organisations in a sustainable way to protect the natural environment and decarbonise our planet.
We design and manage cooperative, carbon mitigation schemes within Plan Vivo Accreditation framework aimed at reducing environmental degradation and diversifying incomes for rural communities.
Our commitment is to helping meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 15 Life on Land, SDG 13 Climate Action and SDG 11 Sustainable Cities & Communities
In Kenya we focus on two target groups: small-holder farmers and schools.
Small-holder farmers hold less than 2 hectares of land largely threatened by climate change, droughts and soil erosion. Farmers plant (mainly threatened) indigenous and agroforestry species to contribute to food security, conservation and carbon rights.
Schools are under performing. There is a direct correlation between malnourished children and the performance of schools. By planting crops and trees, we help incentivise children to attend school with regular meals to supplement and diversify their diet.
Top performing organisations are already taking positive action to reduce their footprint through integrating societal & environmental responsibilities.
Research shows that a purpose led company attracts the most talented employees and appeals to increasingly sustainable consumers and investors.
We aggregate our emission reductions and removals to achieve marketable scale, so corporations can buy internationally accredited carbon credits and support rural communities.
