TreeKenya, our Plan Vivo registered, sustainable agritech initiative connects smallholder farmers to accredited organic & carbon markets. 

We partner with a credible network of local, Kenyan NGOs practising agroecology with farmers & schools.

TreeKenya finances and establishes nurseries & organic farming inputs, incentivising farmers to plant high value trees that can quickly be harvested for fruits, nuts, seeds and leaves, generating revenue through impactful carbon credits and organic harvests sold.

We manage our initiative through a proprietary digital platform that maps and tracks parcels of land, measures tree growth with satellite imagery, and processes farmer payments and loans.

With our traceable financial history at the individual farmer level, we enable add-ons such as micro-finance, insurance and telecom services.

This innovative digital platform enables scale and transparency throughout the value chain

Challenges

All the communities we work with face similar challenges over providing sufficient food to their ever-increasing population. The shortages of food are attributed to socio-economic and environmental factors; declining soil fertility & productivity, high prevalence of diseases & emerging pests and climate change.

The targeted communities and local leaders actively participate in the development of the overall strategy.
